The User Operating the Device

  • JINS ASSIST is operated by changing the direction of your face. If you can move your head with the image of moving the tip of your nose in a circle about 5cm in diameter, both slowly (1 rotation in 2 seconds) and quickly (1 rotation in 0.5 seconds), and in clockwise and counter-clockwise directions as shown below, you can operate the device.
  • If you have tremors or if the circular motion is awkward, you may find it difficult to operate JINS ASSIST.
  • The device can be operated even when your head is in contact with a headrest or pillow.

Information on Unofficially Supported OS

Even on unsupported OS, the device will be recognized and operate as a USB mouse, but settings cannot be changed because the auxiliary app cannot be used. The following steps are required to change settings.

  1. Please prepare a device (Device 2) that can run the auxiliary app, in addition to the device you will be using (Device 1).
  2. Connect JINS ASSIST to Device 2 and configure the settings from the auxiliary app.
  3. After changing the settings, unplug JINS ASSIST from Device 2 and reconnect it to Device 1 (the settings are retained within JINS ASSIST).

Details for Each OS

  • Windows 32bit: The auxiliary app cannot be used.
  • ChromeOS: The auxiliary app cannot be used, but we have confirmed that the main unit operates.
  • iOS: It can be operated on iOS 13 or later by enabling the Accessibility feature (AssistiveTouch). For how to set up AssistiveTouch, please refer to Various Usage Scenarios (Settings and operations specific to mobile OS).
  • iPadOS: It is compatible with USB mice on iPadOS 13.4 or later and can be connected and used. Setting up AssistiveTouch can make operation easier.
  • Android: It is compatible with devices running Android 6 or later that are equipped with the USB Host feature and can be used immediately after connection. For optimizing screen operations, please refer to and configure the settings in Various Usage Scenarios (Settings and operations specific to mobile OS).

Information on Unofficially Supported Ports

  • Type-A USB port: Please use it via a USB hub. Using a Type-C (female) to Type-A (male) conversion adapter for purposes other than this device carries risks such as malfunction and fire.
  • Lightning port: We have confirmed operation with a Lightning conversion adapter that supports USB OTG (USB On-The-Go), but compatibility issues may arise depending on the combination of the adapter and the device model. ※Please note that conversion adapters labeled as data transfer compatible but not supporting OTG will not work.
